I'm sorry I kept your very curious eyes waiting! lol.
I've been very good with the diet the last two days. ^^ I had an awesome meal last night, though. My girlfriend and I had my parents and my sister over for dinner and we served some grilled Korean BBQ marinated chicken thighs and a simple greens salad. The thighs were marinated for about 3.5 hours or so and grilled on medium/high-ish for about 15 minutes or so. The store bought stuff is really easy to copy, so if you're curious how to make it, let me know.
Aaaaanyway, about me lately...not too much is new. My girlfriend and I have been living together for about a week or so and people have been CONSTANTLY telling us that we're just BOUND to get into a fight a some point and/or get sick of each other. We don't exactly disagree with these concepts, but in our defence, we STILL haven't had anything more than a small disagreement in a year and 4 months. If I heard it once or twice...meh, you're welcome to your opinion, but after 5 or 6 times, it get a little old. She and I are very happy. Why can't you just let us stay happy?! >_<
Until next time,
John

New day...
Yeah, I'm proud of myself. I've been slacking a little on the exercise, but I've been good on food! Tonight, I had a little cream cheese and smoked salmon. Mmmmmmmmmmm.
However, going back to the exercise thing, I'm very excited about what is coming up soon. Starting Friday-ish, my wonderful girlfriend, who's rear I'm not kissing, has planned a REGULAR early morning workout. The means by which this workout will is yet to be decided, but I'm hoping there will be lots of road biking involved. ^_^
As far as my mind goes, like it or not, here's what's on my mind. I'm tired of reading anthropological essays. They're so dry. It's just too analytical for my mind.
Sorry for the short post. I'm just tired.
Anyway, as they would say in Japan... Mata ashita ne ^_^ (See you tomorrow!)

Hello again...
So, the last few days have been kind of interesting. My diet hasn't been too bad because I've been trying to be good. I've taken a liking to the 64 calorie beer. It has little to no taste that the calorie ridden beers seem to have, but sometimes you just need a beer after work...sorry. haha. However, in other aspects, my weight loss has been rather unsuccessful. For whatever reason, aside from work when I was running around the whole time, I pretty much didn't move from the couch. I guess I had a little bit of a reason because I'm studying for a Japanese aptitude test called the JLTP.
On the foodie side of things, though, I tried something VERY cool! I had the opportunity to try durian(sp?). Now, please forgive my explanation because this had, quite possibly, the most complex flavor of anything I've ever eaten in my whole life. So, let's start out with the texture. The closest thing I can related it to is a custardy, congealed snot... Now, here's were it gets kind of difficult. The taste and smell was, well...almost indescribable. Now, if you wouldn't mind, turn on your imaginary smell and taste receptors while I describe this to you. The first smell that I got was of the rotten egg smell that is put in natural gas, then it turned into a smelly french cheese with a hint of pig crap...and then, as you put it into your mouth, you get a somewhat sweet, custardy, rotten milk-y taste. Now, try to get it down your esophagus. Well, I seemed to do it and, being completely honest, I didn't hate it. I wouldn't eat it on a regular basis, but I would eat it again if someone presented it to me.
Anyway, sorry for the long post. I just wanted you to experience this as I did. I encourage you to try eating anything. It's ALWAYS worth it once. You never know what you'll like. :)

So, about today...
I was SO proud of myself until about 7PM. I ate healthy ALL day. I rode my road bike 12-ish miles this morning and have been throwing together a Japanese study packet for my girlfriend and I (Speaking of which, I should probably continue doing at some point in the near future…hehe). At any rate, for breakfast I had a Special K protein bar. Reason being, I figured that if I ate much more than that before I went riding, I would have something in my stomach while going all out on the bike and I just figured that that wouldn’t be an amazingly brilliant idea. For lunch, I had…errrrr…two of those chicken hot dog things that Trader Joes carries. They are awesome if you haven’t had them. Oh and I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned that I absolutely love spicy things, but yeah, I do. For dinner, though, I had sushi. Not too bad, right? Well, after that, I wanted, no, I craved, some cookies, so like an addict, I got some. I only had 2, but still. All-in-all, I think it could have been worse, but it could have been a lot better. I feel like I’m on the right track, though. I’ve been better today than I have in the recent past. I think I’m going to cook a creamed spinach and somewhat spiced, baked chicken recipe for dinner, so I think tomorrow’s dinner will be better.
On a mildly personal note, it kind of makes it hard when I don’t have my girlfriend here because she helps motivate me, especially because we usually cook together and she doesn’t get back until the 15th. >_< I miss her!!! Well, I hope to hear from you! Give me some motivation or help!!!!

Introduction to...well...me :)
Hello everyone!
So, I love food and I LOOOVE to cook. It shows. Look at my before picture, which I will post in the near future. Obvious, right? At any rate, a little more about me… I’m a 24 year old, pre-med college student at the University of Arizona . I have a beautiful, amazing girlfriend who I met on eHarmony in the beginning of last year and she loves to cook, too, so we go very well together. They say that couples who cook together, stay together. Haha. Anyway, in my humble opinion, there really isn’t anything much better feeling than knowing that the dish you cook tastes really good when the people you cook for seem to agree. Now, onto the lap-band part of this. Admittedly, I really don't think that anybody likes, or appreciates, rather, the actual journey of weight loss until they look back on it. It's a gigantic pain. It takes an EPICALLY large amount of work and the mental resistance that you have to use is sometimes seemingly mildly debilitating. All-in-all, it is TOTALLY worth it in the end, though!! Well, I hope you will follow me through my journey to getting healthy!!
Feel free to comment about anything! Give me any advice you have and tell me about your experiences too! I look forward to keeping you posted on what is going on!
Talk to you soon!
